Whats New

Welcome!

I’m back from my travels in Asia – I went to a wonderful wedding in Hong Kong and thought it would be silly to go all that way and come straight back, so I stopped off in Vietnam and Cambodia (fascinating), and then Singapore before flying home.  I hadn’t realised that nobody sensible goes to those countries in April because it is way too hot and humid!  It was an amazing trip though, and Carlo the dog has forgiven me for being away so much.  I have promised him I’m not going anywhere abroad for many months!

I’m very happy to be back at the torch and my latest creation came after I found some glass shards in vibrant colours that I’d completely forgotten about – the result is a necklace rather out of my usual style but good fun.  I made a pendant too and that got snapped up before I had a chance to photogrpah it so I’m hoping you will like this rather abstract style of bead.

Mims Grogan of Sharmasilks in Suffolk has been sending me some stunning hand painted silks for years now and her most recent painting is the fabulous “Storm on the Wash” – so atmospheric! It’s also beautifully presented – stretched over canvas and then enclosed in a tray frame, perfect for a large picture like this (about 17″ by 26″).

Lots of other new things in the Studio as well including some fabulous 100% cotton block printed sarongs.  I’m loving the soft colours.
